Words Are The Wings To Action

by Deean G. Strecker

I asked the Lord one day in prayer
for a need I specifically had.
The thought of not knowing He'd answer me,
made my heart grow weary and sad.

"Dear Lord," I asked, "please tell me
how can I not doubt your word?
There were times I prayed, and sought your help,
but your answers I neither saw nor heard."

"They say that Satan steals our faith,
and blessings You have in store.
But show me how to stop him, Lord,
from stealing anymore."

Before I grant a prayer request,
My child, you must firmly believe.
I delight in giving your heart's desire,
but first, you must be ready to receive.

At the time you pray, your faith is strong,
but it usually doesn't last.
When obstacles come against you, child,
your praise should be steadfast.

At the moment your prayers reach my ears,
an unseen battle takes place.
Your faith determines the outcome,
and the winner of this race.

When you praise in spite of what you see,
My angels are given power.
Words are the wings to action.
They can destroy or build a strong tower.

The devil steals the blessings I send
when your heart is filled with doubt.
Prayer is challenged by evil forces,
but your words determine the bout.

So praise Me, child, and see your answers.
Don't doubt, lose faith, or disbelieve.
Through praise you'll receive your heart's desires
That's when you're ready to receive.
