Through Weakness You Become Strong

by Deean G. Strecker

Many times I have seen your tears fall,
and though you could not see,
My arms were wrapped around you,
holding you close to Me.

You ask Me how can I love you,
while you struggle through a life full of sin.
Nothing you do can withhold My love,
as its boundaries for you has no end.

My child, please know that all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God.
No one can live a blameless life,
so I offer My staff and rod.

With My staff I lead and guide you,
when My name you earnestly call.
I use it to give you direction
and to catch you, should you fall.

With My rod I defend and protect you,
as you walk through valleys you fear.
Though you cannot see My face,
I promise I'm always near.

Dear child, your God has no favorites.
My love I equally share.
Even for the very worst sinner,
the Cross, for him, I did bear.

Weaknesses are used to give you strength.
Through them, I'll draw you to Me.
They're used to mold and shape you
into the child that you should be.

So never begrudge your weaknesses,
your infirmities or suffered wrongs.
If your faith in Christ is steadfast,
through your weakness you are made strong.
