As I sat and watched, the clouds grew dark,
and trees swayed against the wind;
the promise of storms certain to come;
the rains would soon begin.
Then a thought occurred to me.
How could we be so blind?
We read the signs of the weather,
but why not the signs of the time.
We know when sunshine's sure to come,
and when rain is on the way.
Technology foretells what the future holds
with our weather, day by day.
And like the lesson of the fig tree,
a verse we hold so dear.
When its twigs are tender, and leaves come out,
we know that summer's near. (Matt 24:32)
If we know so much about weather,
and what tomorrow will be,
why can't we see the end draws near,
as foretold in prophesy?
As in the day of Noah,
sin sweeps across the land.
The signs are there, the Bible warns.
God's judgement is at hand.
So will you miss the return of Christ
as He comes like a thief in the night?
Or will you be watching, and ready to go,
to escape from judgement's plight?
Jesus is knocking at your heart's door.
Please won't you let Him come in?
He promises salvation to all who believe,
and eternal life with Him.
