Satan's Rival

by Deean G. Strecker

Men wrote the Constitution,
and passed laws to govern our land.
They supposedly guaranteed justice
for us, and our fellow man.

Later, Amendment number 1
listed the freedoms they did give.
Rules like the 10 commandments
showed us how to live.

Through the passing of many years,
our hearts grew cold with time.
Court rulings now benefit evil.
Our world is full of crime.

Our nation's leaders seek to destroy
the family as a whole.
New laws are taking our rights away,
leaving parents without a role.

Innocent lives are being destroyed
with the support of coalitions.
Many infants robbed of life
due to selfish ambitions.

There are also thousands dying
from diseases spread by lust.
Drugs are taking their toll too,
as their use becomes a must.

When faced with all the evil
destroying our world today,
a question lingers in my mind.
"How did it turn out this way?"

Of all the books within this world,
there's one called Satan's rival.
It's pages contain the knowledge of God;
this book known as The Bible.

Satan works to distort God's Word
with lies of every kind.
He knows the Bible holds the truth.
So, he seeks to make us blind.

If he can take the Word of God
and change it to fit his needs,
he then can control the will of men
and perform his dirty deeds.

The Bible is such a precious gift,
because God's Word never dies.
It lives throughout eternity,
in spite of Satan's lies.

It's time that we as a nation
take our Bibles again in hand.
For when we return to the will of God,
only then will He heal our land.
