Resurrection Ground

by Deean G. Strecker

Have you ever been in a grave yard,
and heard the cry of an old black cat?
Were you ever scared senseless,
and felt chills run down your back?

Some people fear grave yards are haunted,
and refuse to enter them at night.
Ghosts and goblins they hope not to see,
but then again, they just might.

What if by chance you were standing there
when the rapture finally came.
As you watched the graves burst open,
would you run or calmly remain?

We’re told the dead in Christ will rise,
brought up to the Son of Man.
The saints on earth are taken next,
to escape God’s wrath at hand.

Imagine the sight of an unsaved son,
staring down at the grave of his brother.
An earthquake force splits open the ground.
There stands also his father and mother.

The next time you visit your family’s graves,
take time to look all around.
Where you stand is very sacred indeed,
because it’s resurrection ground.
