A virus is spreading throughout the land.
Many lives it has already claimed.
Some suffer spiritual deafness or blindness,
others are crooked and maimed.
It enters your body very slowly.
At first you don't know it's there.
When you finally realize you have it,
by that time you don't even care.
It's called the sin of necromancy,
and it spreads with your given approval.
You can willingly choose its infection,
or rebuke and demand its removal.
Consulting with witches and psychics,
are a few of its side effects.
When there's channeling of "dead" spirits,
oppression of your soul comes next.
In the beginning it seems to be harmless,
when you first contract the disease.
As time goes on, it worsens.
It can destroy your life with ease.
When the spirits begin to torment you,
many questions you'll have, I'm sure.
Like, "What is the chance of survival?"
and, "Is there any known cure?"
There's a cure, but it's found in repentance.
It's the only cure that heals.
It's a prescription from the Great Doctor
One dose, and the virus He kills.
So if you know that you're infected,
and desperately want to be free,
then call on Jesus, our Savior,
for He's already paid your fee.

Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language defines necromancy as:
1 Divination by means of pretended communication with the dead.
2 Black magic; sorcery.
Note the word “pretended” above? There are two ways of looking at this practice. Some so called psychics and mediums who claim to contact the spirits of the dead are actually faking, and thus are only interested in separating you from your money. With others, however, the situation is much more sinister. The spirits contacted by genuine psychics, mediums, witches, channelers and sorcerers are real spirits, but not the spirits of dead human beings. In reality they are in contact with demonic spirits.
When psychics and channelers introduce their target to the spirits, they make the victim feel that the spirits do their bidding. The spirits usually pretend to be benign at first, only showing their true colors later when they have begun to manifest more fully to destroy their victim’s life.
When things begin to get out of control, the oppressed or possessed person will often attempt to break contact off with the spirits, only to find that they never really had control of them in the first place.
God specifically prohibits the practice of necromancy. In ages past, the person in contact with the spirits would pass them off as gods to be worshipped and obeyed. Human sacrifices and other heinous practices were required by these spirits who always acted totally opposite to the Word of God. Listen to what the Bible has to say about visiting and using psychics and channelers:
“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.” (Lev 19:31)
“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.” (Lev 20:6)
“A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.” (Lev 20:27 )
“10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.” (Deu 18:10-14)
“19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isa 8:19-20)
Necromancy was at the root of all the sin that caused God to call the nation of Israel to wipe out the inhabitants of the land of Cannan. The practice is a rebellion against the Almighty God and will lead to a destroyed life. On the national level, it leads to abject poverty, superstition and hopelessness. Look at the nation of India, for example. Almost all the “New Age” psychics and mysticism can be traced back to Hinduism and Buddhism. The people who practice these faiths believe in a plethora of gods, goddesses, and demons. Their worship leads to murder, blood sacrifices and other strange practices which have kept their cultures primitive and backwards for centuries. Remember, ultimately these spirits are thieves who come but to steal, kill and destroy. Their ultimate aim is to lead you into rebellion against God, then to destroy your soul to assure you an eternity in hell. Is this what you really want?
