Have you ever wished to live your life
in another day and time?
To escape the present, and find the past,
where people were friendly and kind.
To have lived in a day where God came first,
is a life I would rather lead.
Where neighbors would lend a helping hand
to those who were in need.
Though wealth was not common
in those days of old,
the love that people gave and shared
was worth more than silver or gold.
Sunday was always a special day.
Folks came from miles around.
Each dressed in their Sunday best,
church was where they were bound.
Respect was something all people had,
manners and morals, too.
Crime was next to nothing then.
Criminals were so few.
I have heard the stories told to me,
from a life I'll never know.
I look at the world now, and wonder.
Where did those days go?
I often said to my precious Lord,
when bowing my head to pray,
"I wish I lived in another time,
instead of a day like today."
With a soft gentle voice, He spoke to me,
one day as I listened for Him.
"You were chosen, My child, for a reason
to live in these end times of sin.
To each who lives in the world today,
I've planned your lives just so.
You were chosen to carry out My plan.
I've picked you long ago.
So, please, My children, proclaim My words
to all, no matter what the cost.
Your rewards in heaven will be great
when you help to save the lost."
Dedicated to the memory of my grandmother
