First Pentecostal Church has a number of dynamic and active programs available for children starting with our Toddler Class and continuing through College and Career. Children are never too young to learn about God, and at FPC of Slidell we want to share the love of God with each child and demonstrate that God's church is a place of safety, love and acceptance.
Our Sunday morning children's classes are organized by Damon Crowe and a team of committed teachers. Damon has been an active, involved member of the First Pentecostal Church for thirty-two years and leader of the Sunday School department for 30 years.
First Pentecostal offers age-specific classes staffed with a minimum of two teachers in each class. Teachers are highly trained and attend regular meetings and periodic professional development workshops for the acquisition and reinforcement of skills.
Sunday School begins at 10:00 AM every Sunday morning for both adults and children. Adults meet in the sanctuary for worship and preaching of the Word of God, and children report to the adjacent McKinney building. Children report directly to their own individual age appropriate class for an hour of fun-filled activity and Bible based instruction. If you have questions about the location of classes or age breakdowns, please feel free to ask a hostess in the main auditorium or a representative at our welcome desk in the McKinney Building.
At 11:00 our classes are escorted to the main auditorium of the McKinney building for Kidzone, an action-packed variety service. Kidzone is organized by our Children's Pastor David Wilson and team to give kids a fun filled praise and worship serivce focusing on bringing children closer to Jesus. Immediately following Kidzone, students are escorted back to their classes to gather their belongings and wait for parent/guardian pick up at 11:30.
